Your exploration will begin with an impressive descent into the heart of a lush cavity, 75 meters deep. You will then continue your route 103 meters underground, through the subterranean galleries, to the landing stage. There, you will embark on a boat crossing, accompanied by a guide-boatman.
On the other side of the river, your journey will continue with the discovery of a multitude of geological wonders, patiently sculpted by nature for millions of years.
EXPLORER'S TOUR
Each year, the Gouffre de Padirac offers lovers of unusual experiences the opportunity to discover its galleries under extraordinary conditions: at nightfall and by lantern light.
On this occasion, our guide-boatmen will take you back in time, portraying guides trained by none other than Monsieur Édouard-Alfred Martel, the first explorer of the Gouffre in 1889. Dressed in their elegant tailcoats, they will share anecdotes and historical stories with you, for a complete immersion. You will discover this underground world as it was at the time, by the light of your lanterns alone, as electricity had not yet reached the galleries…
