After a boat trip gliding along the Rivière Plane (River Plane), the vault comes into view. A fault stands out and reveals the Lac de la Pluie.
The Grande Pendeloque, a majestic 60-meter-high stalactite, faces you.
Like an endless rain, thousands of water drops continue to disturb the perfect reflection of the Grande Pendeloque. Falling from the vault, they give name to the Lac de la Pluie (Rain Lake).
Edouard-Alfred Martel, the "founding father" of the Gouffre de Padirac, so wrote: "Here the true wonder begins…"
